New Orleans’ Literary Landmark
From the 1920s when Faulkner, Hemingway and bohemian writers of the French Quarter caroused in the hotel bar – to their more contemporary counterparts, such as Anne Rice and Richard Ford – the Hotel Monteleone has been used as a backdrop in dozens of works.
From these, we chose ten novels, two plays, and one short story to feature and illustrated each one with archival photos, drawings and collages.
